I work with adults on issues of stress, anxiety, and relationship concerns all the time, and support those who are facing major life challenges, including loss of loved ones and traumatic experiences. Regardless of life circumstance or history, my goal is to help my clients reduce stress and overwhelm in the nervous system, and increase a sense of stability and well-being through somatic (body based) approaches.
Somatic Experiencing, pioneered by Dr. Peter Levine, is a naturalistic form of healing that helps release physiological activation from the body. Very often this process reduces symptoms of stress in the nervous system and helps stabilize the body and mind.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a Somatic Experiencing Assistant, and an Approved SE Session Provider at the Beginning Level. I receive ongoing Master level training and consultation in this modality.
For students of Somatic Experiencing, I am an Approved Session Provider at the Beginning Level.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR involves using Bi-Lateral Stimulation while targeting distressing material, and impacts the way the brain processes, generally increasing objectivity and a sense of resolution. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA, the EMDR International Association. From 2015 -2019, I assisted Craig Penner, LMFT, SEP in training other therapists in Somatic Focused EMDR Therapy.
Through Kathy Kain, MA, and Stephen Terrell, PsyD, I am trained in Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists and Somatic Resilience and Regulation. These approaches utilize somatic touch, resiliency, awareness building, and self-regulation skills, especially helpful in addressing developmental trauma.
I am also currently studying this modality with Alaine Duncan, LAc, SEP to better integrate Five Element theory with touch work for trauma treatment.
